Dear Faculty and Staff, You're invited to the October session of Tea & Talk, a monthly professional development space for connecting, reflecting, and building community. The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) brings you this initiative in collaboration with Human Resources, Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS), Academic Personnel Services (APS), and Staff Council.

Facilities Management has scheduled a temporary water shut down for the west side of Gist Hall on Friday, September 25th, beginning at 10:00 am with an estimated completion time of 11:00 am. All toilets, sinks and drinking fountains on the west side of Gist hall will be off during the shut down. Toilets, sinks and drinking fountains on the east side will remain operational.

The CSU invites all campus members, including students, faculty, and staff, to participate in an anonymous survey about Generative AI (GenAI), such as ChatGPT.  Campus members are encouraged to use the survey to provide their input on how these emerging technologies are shaping our campus community. The results of the survey will provide a snapshot of AI-related needs and sentiments and will help guide the CSU and Cal Poly Humboldt in creating a thoughtful and responsive approach to GenAI.

After a national search, Cal Poly Humboldt is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Koscielak as Director of Sustainability.

Dear Campus Community, As a reminder, employees may choose either a digital parking permit or a physical parking permit. Employees who prefer a physical permit may exchange their digital permit and request a refund of the applicable service fee. To complete the exchange and request a refund, visit the Cashier’s Office window on the second floor of the SBS Building. The Cashier’s Office will begin processing permit exchanges and refunds on Monday, September 21, 2026.

During the webinar, The Standard will provide an overview of CSU’s Voluntary Life Insurance, this year’s special Guarantee Issue (GI) opportunity, and additional supplemental benefits available to eligible employees. 

Dear Cal Poly Humboldt Community, The University is beginning an important transition to the Common Human Resources System (CHRS), a California State University initiative that will bring CSU campuses together on a common Human Resources platform with more consistent processes and data. CHRS is designed to modernize how employees interact with Human Resources systems while supporting more efficient HR operations, improved reporting, and greater consistency across the CSU.

Hello campus community, Construction has begun on the expansion of Parking Lot G14. The Marketing & Communications (Marcom) building will remain operational during construction. At times, construction activities may impact public access to the building for brief periods. Marcom will notify clients if completed orders must be picked up at an alternate location or if construction affects normal pickup times or procedures.
