First Generation College Student Celebration Week
During the annual First Generation College Student Celebration Week Nov. 4-8, 2024, join the Educational Opportunity Program, RAMP, Academic Advising Center, Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and many other programs and departments for a week dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and uplifting Humboldt’s first-generation students! There will be educational workshops and fun activities geared towards first-generation students. You can participate in a sound bath, do some insightful artwork, learn about graduate programs and career opportunities, and much more! The main event will be the 5th Annual First Generation College Celebration on Friday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Goodwin Forum which will include tabling, speakers, and refreshments. Last night, I was able to attend the Taste of the Holidays event, sponsored by the Arcata Sunrise Rotary, and it truly put me into a festive spirit! - MLK Day of Service 2025Cal Poly Humboldt students, staff and faculty, College of the Redwoods, and community members are invited to join Youth Educational Services for a morning of community service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day- Monday, January 20, 2025, from 8 a.m. to noon. This event will feature volunteer projects on campus and at community sites.
- Student Fellowship Opportunity: 2025 McCrone Graduate Fellowship AwardCal Poly Humboldt established the Alistair and Judith McCrone Graduate Fellowship Fund in October 2001. The fund was created to honor Dr. and Mrs. McCrone, who together supported Cal Poly Humboldt and its students for over a quarter of a century. This award will recognize one outstanding graduate student, acknowledge their potential, and encourage their continued achievement in their graduate program. Eligibility:

- 2025 CSU Student Research CompetitionThe Office of Research & Sponsored Programs is pleased to announce the 2025 CSU Student Research Competition. To apply, students must submit a written summary of their research or creative presentations to the Office of Research by Friday, January 31, 2025. Students may showcase recently completed or late-stage work for a chance to win $500!
