EMail Security Announcement
Within the past year, two California State Universities have fallen victim to ransomware through EMail phishing attacks. The threat of ransomware continues to grow exponentially every year. To protect against these threats, Cal Poly Humboldt is implementing a new email security solution.
Between now and December, we will change how we detect risky emails with a new EMail security platform to better prevent email attacks.
During this time, as the tool is learning, you may see a few more scam emails and have some short delays as questionable emails are held in quarantine. Some scam emails are difficult to automatically detect and may be delivered to “spam.”
Please continue to report spam and malicious email through GMail, and contact the ITS Help Desk (x4357) if you suspect you are missing a message.
Sincerely,
Information Technology Services (ITS)
Cal Poly Humboldt
