TOMORROW! AI Upskilling for Faculty - Your First Data Visualization in Python: ChatGPT Drafts it, You Perfect it

AI Upskilling for Faculty: Your First Data Visualization in Python Virtual Workshop Wed., Oct. 15 | 12pm to 2pm

AI Upskilling for Faculty: Your First Data Visualization in Python

Virtual Workshop

Wed., Oct. 15 | 12pm to 2pm

You’re invited to join CSUBIOTECH for a beginner-friendly, Zoom workshop (no coding experience needed) that will use ChatGPT to generate Python code to produce data visualizations, and then edit and refine in Google Colab notebooks. In the first half, datasets will be provided to practice prompting, running, and improving visualizations. In the second half, participants will receive guidance generating visualizations of their own data sets that they are able to share with the group. This session will be led by Dr. Gianmarc Grazioli, Computational Chemistry, San José State University.

**Please note: Google Colab is not always enabled by default for Google Drive users. It is a free feature, but you may need to opt into it.

In preparation for this workshop, participants should have a Google Drive account that is enabled for Colab notebooks. A stepwise procedure is provided below. This should take no more than 5 minutes.

1) Have a Google Drive account.

2) Download the attached .ipynb and .csv files.

3) While logged into your Google Drive account in your browser, go to colab.research.google.com

4) Click "Upload" (positioned a bit left of the center of the screen)

5) Drag the .ipynb notebook from your downloads folder into the space where it says "drag a file here"

6) Once you have done this, your Drive account should be enabled to handle Colab notebooks as shown in the YouTube video linked below.

7) Watch the 2 minute video linked below and follow along so you can first open the attached .ipynb file as a Google Colab notebook in a Drive folder, and then load the attached .csv file into the Colab notebook for plotting.

REGISTRATION: Sign up via this link.

CONTACT: If you have a data set you'd like to see plotted during the session, please email Prof. Grazioli at gianmarc.grazioli@sjsu.edu with "Data for Python Workshop" as the subject.
