The CARE Services Program is available to support students facing extenuating circumstances. Services Include:
- Referrals for students to basic needs resources and related services on and off campus
- Academic accommodations/advocacy including notifying professors regarding missed classes, dropping a course, and withdrawing from a course due to extenuating circumstances
- Help with navigating and explaining University policies and procedures
- Consultation for the University community regarding students of concern
- Follow-up services in collaboration with parents, guardians, community agencies, other University departments, and other stakeholders in the student’s success
If you know of a student needing assistance with basic needs, please complete a referral form or contact the Office of the Dean of Students at dos@humboldt.edu for more information. We are here to help ensure that all students have access to the resources they need.

- Annual Fire Alarm Testing Schedule July 14-18, 2025Facilities Management has scheduled the following buildings for fire alarm testing July 14–18. Due to the large volume of fire alarms to be tested, some scheduling changes may occur. A schedule is provided below. Additional scheduling for remaining buildings to be tested July 21–July 25 will follow.
- Get Ready for Virtual Parking Permits!Transportation & Parking Services is thrilled to announce a big change coming in Fall 2025: we're moving to virtual parking permits! That means no more decals on your windshield. Starting July 15, 2025, when you purchase new semester or annual permits through our online portal, your license plate will serve as your permit. It's crucial to make sure your license plate information is accurate when you apply to avoid any issues.
- Upcoming Roof Replacement Work at HGH & SHDear Campus Community, Please be advised that roof replacement projects at Siemens Hall and Harry Griffith Hall will begin soon. Work will start first at Siemens Hall, followed by Harry Griffith Hall. Both buildings will remain open and accessible throughout the duration of the work. The contractor will establish fenced construction zones near each building. These areas will be restricted to contractor personnel only and will be located at the following sites:
- Campus Apartments Demolition UpdateStarting on Monday July 7, continuing through July 10, 2025 the contractor for the Housing, Dining & Health Project will need to reconfigure construction fencing around the site to complete demolition work in various areas on the site. The impacts will be as follows:
