Information Security Leadership Change in Information Technology Services
Josh Callahan, our Information Security Officer and Chief Technology Officer, will be leaving his position at Cal Poly Humboldt on July 28, 2023. Josh has accepted an incredible opportunity as the Chief Information Security Officer at the California State University Office of the Chancellor.Josh has been an integral part of our campus community since joining us in 2005, making invaluable contributions throughout his tenure. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership in security and technology, enhancing our networking capabilities and establishing a robust technology infrastructure.
We are grateful for Josh's expertise in managing security audits and ensuring the safety of our systems and data. His dedication to safeguarding our institution has been commendable. Although he is transitioning to a new role, we are pleased to announce that he will remain local, allowing us to continue collaborating with him. His partnership will be crucial as we focus on improving regional broadband and expanding technology access for our community.
We express our sincere appreciation for Josh's exceptional service and remarkable achievements during his time at Cal Poly Humboldt. His leadership and expertise have made a lasting impact on our campus. We wish him great success as the new CISO at the CSU.
Please join us in thanking Josh and wishing him well in his future endeavors. A farewell reception will be held on Friday, July 28 from 1:00-2:30 pm, in front of Van Matre Hall.
Tom Lukins, who joined us last year from the County of Humboldt will take on the role of interim Information Security Officer. Josh’s other responsibilities will be shared across our ITS teams.

- Next Steps on the Voluntary Separation Incentive ProgramDear Campus Community, As of April 30th, the application period for the Voluntary Separation Incentive Program (VSIP) has officially closed. Each of our 40 colleagues who have chosen to participate has unique ties to our campus and varying separation dates. Because participation in the VSIP is a personal choice, any individual announcements will be made at appropriate times in coordination with the participants and their supervisors. A comprehensive list of participants will not be published due to these individual coordination efforts.

Cal Poly Humboldt is committed to continuous improvement, including our internal guidelines and processes for campus space reservation and event planning.
