Construction on Engineering & Technology Building Begins
Over the next two weeks, Swinerton builders and the Cal Poly Humboldt Project team will begin construction on our new flagship building of the Cal Poly era, the Engineering & Technology Building. The construction site will encompass the Campus Events Field as well as 17th Street between B Street and Wildlife Lane.
We can expect to see fencing being set up around the perimeter of the site, restricted access on 17th street, construction trailers being delivered, as well as other mobilization efforts by the contractor. Pedestrian access around this site will be maintained for the duration of the project with only localized areas being taken off line for safety.
When alternate routes will be necessary, detour signage will be posted by the contractor. Controlled access on 17th Street will be allowed for campus disability resource centers as well as other campus service vehicles.
This closure will be in effect until the project is completed in Summer 2026. For more information please check in with the E&T project website here. If you have any questions please call Facilities Management at 707 826-3646.
