Transition from OBI to CFS for Financial Data
Hello Colleagues,
We continue to make steady progress transitioning from Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) to the Chancellor’s Office-supported Common Financial System (CFS) Data Warehouse as part of the Enterprise Data Transformation (EDT) Project, a five-year initiative to modernize our data architecture and strengthen our culture of data-informed decision-making. A campus-wide CFS Data Warehouse Task Force continues to guide this transition with a target final transition for stateside finance data users in July of 2026.
Progress to Date
Over the past six months, the project team and task force have:
- Completed initial reviews of report requirements and data mapping
- Worked with campus representatives to identify super users who will support testing and training
- Developed resources to help guide colleagues through the transition
- Conducted initial training sessions
- Established recurring Drop-In Training Sessions
Looking Ahead
In the coming months, we will:
- Continue expanding Financial Reporting training opportunities and refining resources based on campus feedback
- Begin training on Labor Cost Dashboards and developing resources
- Support campus units as they adopt the CFS Data Warehouse in daily operations
We encourage you to stay engaged:
- Visit our resource page for resources and guides
- Join an upcoming Drop In Training session to learn more and share your feedback
- Every 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month
- 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
