Cal Poly Humboldt Welcomes Dr. Anthony Casas as New Chief Human Resources Officer
Cal Poly Humboldt is delighted to announce the appointment of Anthony Casas, Ph.D. as Associate Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer. With a diverse career spanning government and private sector organizations, Dr. Casas brings an impressive record of strategic human resources leadership to our community. He began his tenure on May 29.
Dr. Casas is an accomplished leader in Human Resources. He has earned a stellar reputation for driving outstanding results and pioneering innovative human resources initiatives. At his recent employer, DISA Global, he guided the successful acquisition of 13 companies and contributed to over 1,200% growth in four years at SOC, LLC, another former employer. His innovative leadership in developing effective work-from-home and return-to-work policies during the pandemic indicates his capacity to navigate complex challenges.
In his past position as Chief People Officer for 1st Capital Bank, Dr. Casas has been instrumental in revising the organization's vision, mission, and values statements and creating a culture committee to champion organizational objectives. He also oversaw the reassessment and revision of the HR function to enhance compliance and drive results.

Dr. Casas holds a doctorate in Industrial/Organizational (Personnel) Psychology, a master’s degree in Human Resources and Organization Development, and multiple human resources certifications, including the IPMA-SCP, SPHR, and SHRM-SCP.
As the head of HR, Dr. Casas will play a crucial role in fostering a work environment that supports our employees—the engine behind Cal Poly Humboldt—and aligns with our commitment to providing a high-quality education for all students.

- Jenkins Hall Temporary Gas Shutdown Friday, May 2Facilities Management is working with the contractor for the Jenkins Hall Project to schedule a temporary gas shutdown this Friday, May 2nd from 9AM-5PM. This shutdown will impact Science A, B, C, the Experimental Greenhouse, as well as the Brookins House. During this shutdown period, gas supply to these buildings, as well as fixtures and equipment within these buildings, will be suspended. Service will be restored as soon as the work is completed. - Engineering & Technology Building Project Construction UpdateBeginning Friday April 25, 2025 at 6:00PM continuing through Saturday April 26, 2025, at 1:00PM the construction fencing along 17th Street will be reconfigured to allow for a large concrete pour for the Engineering & Technology Building Project. During this period there will be no through access for any vehicles. Authorized vehicles that need to access the parking lot between the Forestry and Natural Resources buildings should plan to enter from the east at the Wildlife Lane intersection. Pedestrian access should remain unimpeded.
