Global Protect VPN Replacing Microsoft Direct Access VPN
Windows computers that are configured for Direct Access, which in most cases are laptop computers or other computers that travel off the campus networks, will have Direct Access replaced with Global Protect. The Global Protect VPN client will automatically begin installing on Windows computers that have Microsoft Direct Access starting in June.
After Global Protect installs, you can expect a Global Protect Sign In popup on the device in the lower right corner. If you need access to campus resources from off-campus, log in using DUO. You will not need to sign in again for 10 days.
More detailed information about Global Protect on Windows campus computers is available on the ITS website: Using Humboldt's Virtual Private Network (GlobalProtect) on campus owned Windows Computers | Information Technology Services
