Thank You for Your Patience During Roof Replacement Projects

Dear Campus Community,

Dear Campus Community,

Thank you for your patience and flexibility during the recent roof replacement projects at Harry Griffith Hall and Siemens Hall. We recognize that the timing was not ideal. However, proceeding now was necessary to minimize further disruption and remain on schedule with other planned improvements. Both buildings’ roofs had reached the end of their service lives and were experiencing active leaks that disrupted classes and caused damage. Completing the work this term also prepares the campus for the installation of rooftop solar panels, an important step toward advancing Cal Poly Humboldt’s sustainability goals and long-term energy resilience.

In partnership with the CFA Humboldt Chapter, the University identified and implemented measures to support faculty, students, and staff during this work, reaffirming our shared commitment to maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.

We appreciate your understanding as unplanned issues arose during construction. Our facilities teams worked quickly to address challenges, protect interior spaces, and keep classrooms and offices operational.

We sincerely apologize for any disruptions to teaching, learning, or daily operations, including noise, access changes, and temporary relocations.

Thank you again for your patience, cooperation, and professionalism throughout these projects; they have been deeply appreciated.
