Dear Campus Community,
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, our campus will be participating in a Demand Response Test TODAY, Tuesday 8/26 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
What is a Demand Response Test?
A demand response test is a planned event in which we temporarily reduce our electricity usage to help lessen demand on the power grid. These tests are important for ensuring grid reliability during times of high energy use and for supporting our institution’s sustainability goals.
What to Expect:
- The test will occur on Tuesday 8/26 at 4 p.m. and will last approximately 2 hours.
- You may notice adjustments such as reduced lighting, modified HVAC (heating/cooling), or other minor changes in building energy usage.
- Essential operations and safety systems will not be impacted.
How You Can Help:
- Turn off lights and electronics when not in use.
- Avoid running personal appliances or non-essential equipment during the test period.
- Be mindful of energy usage in your work and study areas.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. By participating in this test, our campus demonstrates leadership in sustainability and plays a vital role in reducing energy demand in our community.
Thank you for your support. Please call 707-826-3646 with any questions.
Sincerely,
Facilities Management
