Staffing and Process Updates from Human Resources
Dear Campus Partners,
We’d like to share several upcoming changes within the Human Resources team that may impact recruitment processes and PageUp contacts. These changes will enhance bandwidth and campus service level relative to the recruitment process.
Staffing Updates:
Shakeh Giragossian has accepted a new role as the Interim Title IX Investigator and will no longer be supporting recruitment through PageUp. Please join us in congratulating Shakeh on this exciting opportunity!
Sarah Myers is now serving in a temporary reassignment as an HR Talent Acquisition Partner, and will serve as the primary contact for emergency hire appointments.
We are currently recruiting for a newly added HR Talent Acquisition Partner and look forward to welcoming a new team member soon.
With the arrival of a new HR Talent Acquisition Partner, Michael Figloili will shift into a recruitment support role, which will build capacity for recruitment activities and outcomes.
Process Updates:
Please access our HR Department Toolkit which illustrates existing and new processes related to recruitment. Below are some recent changes:
Emergency hire appointments will now be managed by Sarah Myers.
Interim MPP appointments (existing employees) will be managed by the Compensation and Classification team, and will no longer be processed through the PageUp system.
Interim MPP Appointments (new employees) will continue to be managed within PageUp.
New resources and tools designed to support recent enhancements to the recruitment process will be shared with you shortly.
New and Existing Recruitments will be distributed amongst current staff. If you have any questions regarding who is supporting your recruitment, this information is located in the job card.

- Campus Domestic Water Supply Equipment Repairs August 15Facilities Management has scheduled repairs to equipment serving the campus domestic water system on Friday, August 15. During this scheduled repair, building occupants may experience lower than normal water pressure in all water fixtures, bathrooms and kitchens. (Jolly Giant Commons, The Canyon, & Creekview will not be affected) Thank you for your patience and understanding as our Plumbers perform this necessary repair. - Applications for Emeritus Status for Tenured Faculty and Retired Lecturers, Staff, and Administrators Due Sept. 1Cal Poly Humboldt retired faculty, staff and administors seeking emeritus status should email their nominators “The Informational Template” by Aug. 15, 2025. “Nominations” for emeritus status for tenured faculty and retired lecturer, staff, and administrators are due to the University Senate office by September 1, 2025.
- Annual Housing Emergency SimulationHousing & Residence Life at Cal Poly Humboldt will hold its annual emergency simulation on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 to test campus and community response teams.
- Open House: Sneak Peek of Hinarr Hu Moulik Student Housing ComplexOpen House: Sneak Peek of Hinarr Hu Moulik Student Housing Complex Monday, Aug. 18 Noon – 2 p.m. Celebrate Cal Poly Humboldt’s new off-campus student housing complex, Hinarr Hu Moulik! Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to get a sneak peek at the first floor of the residence hall. (Read more about Hinarr Hu Moulik).
- K-9 Training on CampusOn Saturday, August 9, from 8 a.m. to noon, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue teams will conduct K-9 officer training on campus. As a result, the campus community can expect to see an increased presence of law enforcement personnel. In the event of an emergency on campus, the University Police Department (UPD) will remain staffed and ready to respond as needed. For any questions or concerns, please contact UPD at 707-826-5555.
