Advancing HSIs: Protecting California Community College & CSU Programs
Wednesday, May 14, 2025
10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
STEM-NET promotes research, community building and innovative educational ideas across the CSU university system and provides students the skills they need to excel in the workforce of the future and meet the needs of California’s innovative and evolving economy.
ABOUT: This webinar will explore several critical issues facing California HSIs, with a focus on the potential impact of proposed federal cuts and the elimination of the Department of Education. This is a continuation from STEM-NET’s first brainstorming session held on April 09, 2025.
Panelists will examine how these funding threats are affecting faculty, staff, and student support, Title III & V grants, and share strategies for sustaining HSI initiatives amidst uncertainty and chaos.
The HSI experts will discuss expertise in STEM, HSI initiatives, programming, services, and evaluation and reporting. We invite all HSI faculty, administration, and staff to join us in the conversation and what it means to advocate for the institutionalization of HSI grants and the future of our students.
