As a multidisciplinary national laboratory and federally funded research and development center, Sandia National Laboratories accomplishes tasks that are integral to the mission and operation of it’s sponsoring agencies by anticipating and resolving emerging national security challenges, innovating and discovering new technologies to strengthen the nation’s technological superiority, and informing the national debate where technology policy is critical to preserving security and freedom.
About: Summer 2024 internship applications at Sandia National Labs exploring quantum information science and technology are now open!
Example internship projects include exploring topological material-based device physics, developing software to interface hardware with existing trapped ion quantum controls, characterizing a broadband electro-optical modulator for trapped ion quantum computing, and developing simulations for trapped ion behavior.
The internships take place in Albuquerque, NM and are only open to CSU students. Participants must be an enrolled undergraduate student at any CSU campus, able to relocate to Albuquerque ($1500 relocation assistance available), and be able to work 40 hours a week for 10-12 weeks between May and September 2024. Interns will be compensated $30.00/hour.
