STEM-NET Faculty Fellows Grant Self-Nominations

Deadline for Self-Nominations: Monday, February 3, 2025 by 11:59p.m.

One nominee from Cal Poly Humboldt will be selected to apply. On behalf of the selected nominee, an application will be submitted to STEM-NET by the provost (or designee) by Monday, March 3, 2025, 5:00 p.m.

Appointment Period: July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.

Compensation: A summer 2025 stipend of $5,000 and three (3) semester units (AWTU) for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 terms.

ELIGIBILITY: Nominees should be a a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty with a disciplinary association with science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) (broadly defined) and who are active disciplinary and/or pedagogical scholars.

ABOUT: The STEM-NET Steering Committee is seeking CSU faculty nominations for the 2024-2025 Faculty Fellows program. The goal of the Fellows Grants is to support and encourage the development of a strong program of research or scholarship by faculty members in STEM fields.  As there is a limit of one Faculty Fellow application per institution, only one nominee will be selected to apply from Cal Poly Humboldt. To be considered, faculty must submit a self-nomination by Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, 11:59 p.m.

On behalf of the selected nominee, an application will be submitted by the provost (or designee) by Monday, March 3, 2025, 5:00 p.m.

The Faculty Fellow will report to the provost (or designee). Responsibilities will include:

1. Work with key faculty to develop and submit targeted STEM-based proposals. The subject areas are to be determined in consultation with the provost (or designee).

2. Develop collaborative grants (educational- and research-based) with faculty.

3. Help promote a culture of scholarship on campus.

4. Take on new initiatives designated by the provost.
