CSU Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology (CSUPERB)
Biotechnology improves our lives and our planet. It’s used to develop technologies and products such as biofuel, medicine and vaccines. The California State University’s Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology (CSUPERB) is a committed network of faculty, deans and presidents representing the CSU’s 23 campuses. Together, their work champions biotechnology innovation and helps students embark on life science careers through experiential learning opportunities.

Cal Poly Humboldt Sponsored Programs Foundation is pleased to announce CSUPERB’s 35th Annual CSU Biotechnology Symposium will be January 13-14, 2023. This year's 2-day symposium will be held IN-PERSON at the Santa Clara Marriott in Santa Clara, CA. Details on Symposium Poster Abstracts and Student Research Award Nominations below:

CSUPERB defines biotechnology as a fusion of biology and technology. CSUPERB welcomes and solicits abstracts from CSU faculty-led groups in all disciplines related to the current practice of biotechnology, including but not limited to life sciences, physical sciences, clinical sciences, math, computer science, agricultural science, engineering, and/or business.
SYMPOSIUM AWARDS:
CSUPERB is pleased to invite nominations for the five different CSU Biotechnology Symposium Award programs. Individual award selection criteria, eligibility requirements, and submission policies can be found here. Award recipients will be announced and honored during the symposium.
Calls for the 2023 Don Eden Graduate Student Research Award ($1,750 - RFA link here) and Glenn Nagel Undergraduate Research Award ($1,750 - RFA link here). Nominations are now open! Nominations for Eden and Nagel student awards are made as part of the poster abstract submission process. Deadline - Monday, September 19, 2022, 5:00pm PST
Calls for nominations for the Andreoli Faculty Service Award ($1,000), Faculty Research Award ($1,000), and the Crellin Pauling Student Teaching Awards ($2,000) are now open! The deadline for nominations to all three programs is Monday, October 17, 2022 by 5:00pm PST.
NOTE: The CSUPERB web site is currently under revision. Once complete, RFP's, Templates and submission links will be found on the site. Until then, nominations for these three awards can be made by going to the CSUPERB nomination page at the following link and selecting the appropriate program.
