First Generation College Student Celebration Week
During the annual First Generation College Student Celebration Week Nov. 4-8, 2024, join the Educational Opportunity Program, RAMP, Academic Advising Center, Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and many other programs and departments for a week dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and uplifting Humboldt’s first-generation students! There will be educational workshops and fun activities geared towards first-generation students. You can participate in a sound bath, do some insightful artwork, learn about graduate programs and career opportunities, and much more! The main event will be the 5th Annual First Generation College Celebration on Friday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Goodwin Forum which will include tabling, speakers, and refreshments. - Annual Fire Extinguisher MaintenanceFacilities Management has contracted with Eureka Oxygen to perform required annual maintenance to all fire extinguishers located throughout campus during winter break. Testing will begin on Thursday, Dec. 19, and continue through Friday, Jan. 17. Service technicians will be entering spaces throughout campus, including offices and labs, to perform fire extinguisher testing and maintenance. Facilities Management will coordinate with the contractor to allow access to any sensitive or restricted areas.
- REMINDER: 2025 CSU Student Research CompetitionThis is a friendly reminder that the deadline for the 2025 CSU Student Research Competition is approaching! To apply, students must submit a written summary of their research or creative presentations to the Office of Research by Friday, January 31, 2025. Students may showcase recently completed or late-stage work for a chance to win $500!
