Permanent Leadership Associate Vice President - Faculty Affairs
Dear Academic Affairs Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Kimberly White has been selected as the permanent Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs at Cal Poly Humboldt, following a national search. Dr. White has served in the interim role since 2022, during which time she has led a range of impactful initiatives that have significantly strengthened faculty support and development.
Her accomplishments during the interim appointment include co-leading (with the CTL) a comprehensive new faculty academy, orientation, and mentoring programs designed to promote faculty success and belonging and enhancing outreach to candidates during tenure-track recruitment to increase transparency around tenure and promotion expectations. Under her leadership, Academic Personnel Services’ expanded its capacity to support international faculty with visa and immigration processes. Dr. White’s permanent appointment begins April 1, 2025.
Dr. White is a tenured Professor of Chemistry at Cal Poly Humboldt and previously served as Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Prior to joining Humboldt, she was a faculty member at Colorado Mesa University. Her academic and administrative leadership is grounded in more than 17 years of higher education experience and a strong commitment to faculty development and student success.
