Feedback Requested! Credit for Prior Learning Policy
The Academic Policies Committee has completed an updated draft of the Cal Poly Humboldt Credit for Prior Learning policy. Feedback on the first draft was solicited in November 2022. Based on the feedback received, the committee has now completed a second draft for review.
This policy touches on a lot of areas that could impact programs, departments, and offices across campus. Credit for prior learning includes academic credit earned from (1) examinations (standardized and Cal Poly Humboldt faculty-developed); (2) learning, skills, and knowledge acquired through experience; (3) learning acquired outside formal higher education; and/or (4) education, training, and service provided by the Armed Forces of the United States (i.e. military credit).
Please consider reviewing and providing feedback by Wednesday, October 18th. The committee also wishes to specifically solicit feedback on the highlighted portion of II. General Limitations that adds a percentage limitation on credits used towards completion of majors.
