Fall 2025 Teaching Excellence Symposium: Call for Proposals
The Center for Teaching & Learning at Cal Poly Humboldt invites faculty, staff, and educators to submit proposals for the Fall 2025 Teaching Excellence Symposium. This year’s theme, Inspire, Innovate, Impact: Celebrating Educators, highlights the transformative power of teaching and learning in higher education. We seek dynamic presentations that showcase innovative teaching strategies, impactful classroom experiences, and inspirational stories that drive student success.
Proposal Submission Deadline: April 30, 2025
Symposium Themes and Suggested Topics:
We welcome proposals that align with the symposium’s theme and encourage presentations that explore, but are not limited to, the following topics:
Inspire: Strategies for fostering student engagement, motivation, and resilience in the classroom.
Innovate: Creative approaches to curriculum design, emerging technologies in education, and experiential learning.
Impact: Evidence-based practices that enhance student learning outcomes, equity in education, and community-engaged teaching.
Session Formats:
We encourage a variety of session types, including:
Digital Presentation
Digital Poster
Interactive Digital Presentation - leveraging technology tools such as Kahoot, Mentimeter, AI, etc.
Pre-recorded Video - 5-10 minute engaging video showcasing practice, concept, research, etc.
Lightning Talk (5 minutes) – Concise presentation on innovative idea, strategy, research that sparks conversation
Proposal Guidelines:
Proposals should be submitted via the online submission form and must include:
Title of the session
Session format
Abstract (250-word maximum) describing the session’s objectives, key takeaways, and relevance to the symposium theme
Review Process:
Submissions will be reviewed based on relevance to the symposium theme, clarity of objectives, and potential impact on teaching practices. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by May 9, 2025.
