Call for Applications: CTL Faculty Scholar Program
The Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) invites applications for the Faculty Scholar Program. This program offers faculty members an opportunity to collaborate with the CTL in advancing teaching excellence and innovation across the university.
Faculty Scholars design and facilitate professional development initiatives—such as workshops, research projects, and learning communities—that promote equity, innovation, and evidence-informed teaching practices.
For the upcoming cycle, priority areas include:
Applied learning
Artificial intelligence in education
Inclusive pedagogy
Hybrid and technology-enhanced learning
- Assessment and feedback strategies
This program provides an opportunity to join a community of educators dedicated to reflective practice and continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Scholars will receive financial support in the form of professional development funds based on the type and workload associated with the activity. Criteria for funding decisions include: scope, scale/reach, type and duration, and potential impact.

- ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS: 2026 McCrone Promising Faculty Scholars AwardSponsored Programs Foundation is pleased to request nominations for the McCrone Promising Faculty Scholars Award for Cal Poly Humboldt faculty members. This fund was created to honor Dr. and Mrs. McCrone, who together supported Cal Poly Humboldt and its students for over a quarter of a century. This award will recognize Humboldt’s newer faculty, acknowledge their potential in their field of research, and encourage their continued achievement.
- MLK Jr. Day on, Not a Day OffNovember 12, 2025 Cal Poly Humboldt students, staff and faculty, and community members are invited to join Youth Educational Services (Y.E.S.) for a morning of community service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day—Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to local organizations while commemorating the life and legacy of Dr. King. This event will feature volunteer projects on campus and at community sites. Transportation, breakfast snacks, coffee and tea will be provided.
- Funding Opportunity: Higher Learning Program - Mellon FoundationMellon Foundation - Higher Learning Program Registration Deadline: Monday, December 1, 2025 by 12pm Concept Deadline: Tuesday, February 17, 2026 by 12pm. Please note - Institutions are limited to submitting no more than three concepts by the application deadline. Finalists will be selected by Mellon Foundation, and invitations for full proposals will be issued during the summer of 2026. There is no limit to how many individuals per institution can register.
- Career in Politics NightYou’re invited to: Career in Politics Night!! When: Wednesday, November 12th, 5:30-7:00 PM Where: Green & Gold Room, Founder's Hall 166 Career in Politics Night is a space for students to meet with local politicians, representatives from the elections office, local activists, and many more people who have found success in the field of politics! During this mixer event, we will have food, snacks, and refreshments, and we encourage all attendees to branch out and make new connections!
- Become a CTL Faculty Scholar!The Center for Teaching & Learning invites innovative educators to join the CTL Faculty Scholar Program, launching November 3. As a Faculty Scholar, you’ll collaborate with the CTL to advance professional growth across campus—e.g., designing workshops, leading learning communities, contributing to research, or other innovative work.
