2026 CSU Student Research Competition
The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs is pleased to announce the 2026 CSU Student Research Competition which highlights exceptional undergraduate and graduate work in research, scholarship, and creative activities. This is an opportunity for students to showcase projects they are already working on and to shine at the state level!
Eligibility: Open to current undergraduate and graduate students, and alumni who earned degrees in Spring, Summer, or Fall 2025. Entries may be individual or team-based (only one presenter allowed at the competition). Proprietary research is not eligible.
How to Apply: To apply, students must submit a written summary of their research or creative presentations to the Office of Research by Friday, January 30, 2026. Students may showcase recently completed or late-stage work for a chance to win a cash prize!
If selected, Cal Poly Humboldt can send up to 10 students to compete at California State University San Jose from April 23 - 25, 2026. Sponsored Programs will pay for approved travel costs for each student selected to represent Humboldt in the statewide competition.

• Creative Arts and Design (includes rationale/context for performance/art)
• Education

• Health, Nutrition, and Clinical Sciences
• Humanities and Letters
• Physical and Mathematical Sciences
• Interdisciplinary
