Megan Siems Selected as Director of Academic Personnel and Labor Relations
Dear Cal Poly Humboldt Community,
I am pleased to share that, following a competitive recruitment process, Megan Siems has been selected as the permanent Director of Academic Personnel and Labor Relations in Academic Personnel Services at Cal Poly Humboldt.
Since stepping into the interim role in early 2024, Megan has provided steady, thoughtful leadership and brought structure and clarity to the university’s academic personnel operations. Their collaborative approach, strategic mindset, and deep expertise in labor relations and policy have contributed meaningfully to our academic community.
Megan brings over a decade of experience in higher education and public service, including previous roles at the California Conservation Corps and the City and County of San Francisco, where they led initiatives in labor negotiations, fiscal analysis, and organizational development. At Cal Poly Humboldt, they also served as College Budget Analyst for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, where they supported personnel and budget planning. They hold a Master of Public Policy from the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Loyola University Maryland.
As Director, Megan will continue to lead our academic personnel and labor relations efforts with integrity, fairness, and a commitment to supporting faculty, staff, and the broader university mission.
Please join me in congratulating Megan on their selection. We are fortunate to have their continued leadership at Cal Poly Humboldt.
Sincerely,
Jenn Capps
