Reception Double Vision Art Exhibit
Art B 101 - Reese Bullen Gallery Thursday, September 26, 2024, 4:30 – 6pm Double Vision Artwork by Millian Giang Pham September 19th - October 19th, 2024 - Reese Bullen Gallery Featuring works on fabric, Millian Giang Pham’s body of work Double Vision focuses on Viet imagery and materiality, the artist states “My art making is code switching. Each work experiments with the aesthetic codes and conceptual framework of multiple cultures, art mediums, and languages. Larger compositions switch embroidered text with painted imagery to reevaluate the framework of fine art and seemingly lowbrow craft. I use images such as durian, dragon fruit, cashew, and other exotic fruits to allude to class warfare and Otherness—issues that affected my ability to communicate with my parents and many people around me." Opening Reception: Thurs.
