To be announced Wednesday, March 13, 2024, 8am – 5pm <p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">Cal Poly Humboldt Logging Sports Team will be hosting the 84th annual American Western Forestry Clubs Conclave (AWFC) at Redwood Acres Fairgrounds in Eureka on March 13-15. The AWFC competition has not been hosted in Humboldt County for nearly 10 years and the team wants to honor the great history of Timber Sports at Cal Poly, as well as alumni, the university, and the county by giving it everything they've got and providing a memorable experience for the over 100 student competitors that are expected to participate from universities across the western United States. The Redwood Region Logging Conference (RRLC) is happening concurrently with AWFC and is an amazing networking opportunity for anyone in the natural resources industry in this and adjacent counties. The John Iversen Invitational Lumberjack Competition will be on March 16, and like AWFC will feature college students competing in traditional logging practices.
